On Tuesday, May 5th, 2015, I had the pleasure of not only being able to visit the set of Girl Meets World but also the opportunity to meet the cast and attend a taping. Firstly, I’d like to extend my love to the person who made this possible for me. In a world with so much negativity, you simply shine as one of the most genuine, kind and selfless human beings I’ve had (and will probably ever have) the chance to meet.
I was joined by a friend and my cousins at the start of this eventful day. The first person we met was Danielle, who instantly greeted us with warmth and hospitality. I had been looking forward to presenting her and the cast with a scrapbook that my friend (who teaches middle school) had compiled with the assistance of her 5th and 6th grade students. I truly hope they enjoyed the scrapbook, as the kids in our little town in PA were excited to take part in the project. Next, we were given a tour of the studio – this included the makeup room, the dressing rooms and the various settings that we see on the show. The cast was kind enough to allow us to take photos on the set. Some of the cast had just got done filming a scene so we were able to see Rowan, Sabrina, Peyton, Corey, and Ben. Ben is absolutely hysterical in person! His sense of humor is phenomenal. When he first came out, he hollered, “Where is lion and the lamb?!”, referring to my Twitter name (@lionandthelamb2), and it was really funny. He came over and was kind enough to get acquainted with us; we all shared many laughs in that short amount of time.
Rowan and Sabrina were their usual upbeat selves and happy to meet us, as well as Peyton and Corey. I finally got to give Rowan the duplicate of Hermione’s wand that I got from the Harry Potter place in Florida. She LOVED it. I felt very welcomed there by everyone and was a great feeling knowing they enjoyed my presence.
We went to have lunch and on the way, saw Auggie and his mom. Can I just tell you tell you how adorable he is? Oh my goodness, those curls! His mom was very kind and welcoming also. His little brother Ocean is so cute; he reminds me of my little nephew.
After talking with them, we got to see where the kids do their on set “school” which was definitely neat. We then made our way to get lunch and there I got to meet Mark Blutman, one of the writers. After we got done eating we went back to the set and got our seats for taping. I can’t give anything way from the taping but the episode is called “Girl Meets Belief” and let me tell you it is a good one! The episode touches on a very important topic. I think Season 2 is going to be fantastic, and while I sat there real time, on set, I could sense that the show and the characters alike have matured so much – much like its predecessor, Boy Meets World.
After the taping ended we were able to go down and get pictures with some of the cast as well as Sabrina’s sister.
I’ve included a bunch of pictures from the visit and hope that you all enjoy them! The girl in the selfies at the end of the post is my friend Natalie. The girl in the light orange blazer is my cousin Kelsey, and the other girl in the black is my cousin Katelyn. 🙂
