Great episode. This is #7. I think 3 is my favorite so far though. (Seen 1,3, and 7). This one has a wonderful message people of all ages could use though. Maybe if there was more @daniellefishel in it I would’ve loved it a little more but it was still a SUPERB episode.
Jackee Harry played a bigger part of this one and hints toward a bigger mentor role for Riley and Maya (almost in a Feeny way) so that was great too!
My Girl Meets World experience was simply amazing. Having been to a taping for episode 3 I was thrilled to be able to attend episode 7. First of all I love how the cast members from the old show (this episode that was Rider Strong) hang out on set and make a brief off camera appearance for fans. Such a pleasure for the people who have been fans of the original series for 20 years like myself. Also love the entire new cast as well. The casting director was able to find people who genuinely act, look, and feel like a real family and just like the characters who inspired their roles from the first series. It’s very amazing. Michael Jacobs, the creator of the show, with the help of the writers was able to stay very close to the greatness and overall themes of the original show as well. Boy Meets World entertained as well as taught morals and values to generations and this show will do the same. After the show the entire cast very happily speaks with fans, sign autographs, and take pics with and for the fans too. It is a truly remarkable experience. I have never met a cast so humble, talented, and beautiful (inside and out) in my life. Usually when you meet celebs or childhood idols they disappoint. Attending a Girl Meets World taping and meeting the cast is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of disappointment. It is a dream come true and somehow even manages to exceed my very high expectations. I’m pretty sure just about everyone who attends can say the same thing and this is NOT by mistake or coincidence. The entire cast and crew make sure you walk away with a smile. And perhaps a souvenir. Greatest day ever!
PS.
The experience doesn’t end after the show. If you tweet the cast or post pics of them on IG you will probably get a response and some more kind words. I was lucky enough to take the world’s greatest pic of Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage after the show. After tagging Danielle in the pic she saw it, loved it, and re posted it (even giving me photo credit) and since then it has received thousands of likes and tons of love from fans worldwide. Bringing a smile to her face as well as countless fans brought yet another huge smile to my face. Thank you to everyone involved in that show for inspiring a fellow writer like myself to try to reach the hearts of millions in a positive way just like your show did/does. You have raised the bar for television and humans in general! 🙂

I absolutely love Boy Meets World and just the thought of them continuing on with it with a new generation is just fascinating. Of course, I had my fears that Girl Meets World was going to meet the demands of what current Disney Channel shows have but it doesn’t! With the original producer, Michael Jacobs, and some of the original writers.. they really hold the value of this show to stay true to heart and to “DO GOOD” in it. It exceeded all my expectations and I can’t wait for the show to air!
I went to the January 21st taping of the show. This was my first live taping ever and I went in with a very open mind.
Parking was kind of confusing. It’s off 6th Street and Bixel and I’ve noticed AFTER the show, that they opened the certain lot meant for the audience members around 330-4. Since I did not know that at the time and arrived earlier (2PM), we just paid for parking across the street ($6). The lot near there had some rude security and was not at all helpful.
Waiting in line wasn’t too bad and they started checking in around 4ish? Small bags were allowed and cell phones were too… just as long as you kept it “off.” No need to be sneaky about it.
There was a host who entertained the audience. He played games and told jokes. Pretty generic. You can request songs to the DJ while you wait between takes. Prizes were t-shirts with Hollywood on them, DVDs, and chocolates. You had to dance, sing, or just be sort of “out there” to win them. You were also given a snack at one of the breaks. (Small water bottle and a banana)
We first saw the pilot episode to become familiar with the show and let me tell you, IT WAS GREAT! My faith and trust in the show was full on from this point!
Michael Jacobs came out to express his feelings about the show and the important responsibility he has to stay true to the impact Boy Meets World had with the audience with Girl Meets World. I can tell he truly treasures this sitcom and takes pride in it. He later then introduced the cast. Surprise guest was RIDER STRONG! (He wasn’t in the episode. He was just there to say “hi”) …I cried. Nothing beats the feeling of that moment when you see Cory, Topanga, and Shawn standing next to each other on stage though.. NOTHING!
I was also surprised to see the mom from “Sister, Sister”, Jackee Harry, was on the show as well. I was stoked to see her too since she is so funny!
Then taping began…
This was episode 7. Some scenes were already filmed prior. This episode was about
Riley, Farkle, Tristian, and Maya doing businesses with muffins. Riley and Maya then started a non-profit business in leaving umbrellas in the subways on rainy days.
Definite “AWW” factors were in this episode.
The new cast was on point. They totally fit the character they were suited for. Also, the relationship Ben and Danielle have with the kids is cute. I loved seeing them help out each other between takes. The chemistry was all still there like it was with Boy Meets World. I love the direction Girl Meets World is going and I can only hope for good things to come out of it in the future!
After taping the audience was able to go up to get things signed and take photos.. through the bars of course. The cast was very friendly and were very thankful to their guests for coming to the show. TIP: Get to the front fast and as COURTEOUS as possible. Everyone has the same goal but you know, be nice.. they’ll get to you! I find it easier if some people just kneel and others go above so the actors can see whats to sign. Also, if you’re kneeling you have a somewhat eye level conversation with the actors. This was obviously the highlight of my day.
Also, tweet about it! The before excitement and the after.. the actors sometimes do tweet back! My friend got tweeted back from Danielle.. TWICE! THERE’S HOPE! ^_^
Enjoy and I can’t wait to go to another taping!
Experience by JP Alferos
My name is JP Alferos and today I experienced my first taping.
As an avid Boy Meets World fan and growing up with the show, it is an amazing pleasure to see the value of television.
After the taping, I realized that shows like Girl Meets World bring the family back to television. Values, morals, and teachings that were present when I was growing up, are absent in media today and it is good to know that this show, along with it’s talented staff and cast, will help to shape the world.
The cast is amazing and reminiscent of the show and the opportunity to see how Riley develops with her friendship with Maya is one that I look forward to follow and ensure the next generation follows as well.
The kindness of the story line, the value Michael Jacobs puts into his show, the obvious chemistry of the cast, and the presence of members from the previous show not only bring nostalgia, but hope.
