girl-meets-world-season-2-spoilers

TVLine.com has posted an interview with Ben and Rowan! They give us the scoop about upcoming guest appearances from Boy Meets World cast members. There is also an adorable video of Rowan doing the Feeny Call! Below are some quotes from the interview as well as the video of Rowan doing the Feeny Call which we have to admit she’s totally got it down to a tee!

Mr. Feeny: “He has a great role in the premiere, and in ‘Girl Meets Pluto,’” teases Blanchard. “We go back to Pennsylvania and Riley and I do the Feeny call! It was so intimidating. You don’t want to mess that up, so Michael [Jacobs] would show us clips of Will [Friedle] doing it, then we would try to mimic him. Obviously we’re not as good as he was, but we tried.”

Eric: When Cory’s older brother returns in “Girl Meets Mr. Squirrels,” Blanchard says we should expect nuggets of “wisdom” from his famed alter ego. We shouldn’t, however, expect to find out whether or not Plays With Squirrels remained married to that moose with whom he allegedly swapped vows. “I don’t know if we address that,” Savage admits. “Maybe he’s still with the moose. Eric is a character where, really, anything goes.” Adds Blanchard, less hopefully, “Or maybe they went their separate ways.”

Angela: “This is one of the strongest episodes we’ve ever done,” Savage says of “Girl Meets Hurricane,” in which Shawn’s ex-girlfriend re-enters the fold. “We tie up a lot of loose ends.” Adds Blanchard, “We call it a ‘hurricane’ because it’s all these characters thrown into a situation where they have to come to terms with what’s happened in the past.”

Ben Savage and Will Friedle

Will recently opened up about his anxiety in an interview which you can listen to here: (there is profanity in the interview) http://www.livingthedreamshow.com/will-friedle/

He got his first anxiety attack at 22 years old during a middle of a take for a movie. He’s had anxiety since he was 22 years old and he cannot do on-camera anymore due to anxiety. Once Girl Meets World was announced, he said he has to do it, he has to try. He realized he can do this again and he has done three episodes. It’s fantastic that he has overcome anxiety for himself and Girl Meets World.

JonasAlmostFamous, a fan of Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World made a wonderful video to show support for Will Friedle. Let’s help get #ProudOfWill and #GirlMeetsMrSquirrels trending on Friday, May 15th at 8:30PM when Girl Meets Squirrels premieres.

Girl Meets World / April 30th, 2015

Ben Savage and Will Friedle

Ben and Will at the set of Girl Meets World a few months ago

Well, it’s not really an interview since Will Friedle and the “interviewer” are good friends. Will talked about his acting career, his anxiety and he talked about fate.

Will said that he almost didn’t get the role in Boy Meets World since he was sick and had to miss the pilot taping but it turned out the other person was nearly the same height as Ben and that doesn’t work out since that is the older brother so they brought Will back in and loved him.

He also mentioned his entire life changed in 10th of a second, forever, when he was 22 in the middle of a take for a movie. He had his first anxiety attack and dealt with anxiety ever since and at one point it got so bad that he couldn’t do on-camera work anymore. Will said if you look back on Boy Meets World, that you’ll notice he gained 40-50 lbs of weight near the end seasons of the show. Medications was what was making him eat. Will said that his anxiety got so bad that it prevented him from being able to do on-camera work.  He couldn’t audition or anything because the anxiety attacks were so bad.

He has since went to therapy and was on medication for a year and a half but has since not been on it for around 15 years now. Will stills deals with anxiety on a daily basis, 4-5 times a week but he’s controlling it.

Will also said in his head that he cannot do Girl Meets World due to the anxiety. He also noticed all the rumors such as agoraphobia that people were saying about him. He said he has to do it, he has to try. He said this cannot be a better test for him since he knows everyone on the set and it can most likely help him act on-screen again.

Showrunner Michael Jacobs was offering anything to him to allow him to be comfortable on the set so he can return. He was being amazingly helpful. He came back, and once the audience did a standing ovation for him and cheered, he almost cried. He realized he can do camera work again. It changed his life. He did 3 episodes for Girl Meets World.

Ben and Rowan teased in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Radio Disney Music Awards about Mr. Feeny, Eric and Angela’s return. Check out the quotes below on what Ben and Rowan said.

“Uncle Eric hasn’t changed much in 15 years but he’s definitely joining us this season as are a lot of old guest stars and stars from Boy Meets World

“Uncle Eric and [Riley] have the funniest relationship because she doesn’t quite understand him,” Blanchard explains. “She just knows how hilarious and loving he is and there’s not a scene where I’m not laughing.”

“She’s back to tie up some loose ends and that’s all I’ll say,” Savage teases. “It’s nice, I think this season people are going to be very happy with a lot of the people they see.”

Blanchard dishes, “She’s coming back for an episode where we kind of address the whole Shawn situation and that’s definitely, probably my favorite episode.” The Girl Meets World star also confirmed that fans will be seeing a lot more from Shawn Hunter this season as he tries to find his own “Topanga” to love.

Variety has changed their article saying that Will Friedle’s episode airs on May 15th, not the 14th. We are not sure if this was a mistake on Variety’s part or if Disney changed the episode order at the last minute. Earlier, the writers had tweeted the episode order and titles as well as adding that Will’s episode aired on the 15th instead of the 14th. It was when we noticed that Variety had changed the air date for Will’s episode that we decided to make a post to let you all know that it has in fact changed.

We finally have a date as to when Season 2 of Girl Meets World is going to premiere as well as an air date for Will Friedle’s (Eric Matthews) episode! Variety.com has posted on their website the shows second season will premiere on Monday, May 11, 2015! This means that there will be new episodes every night that week Monday through Friday from May 12-May 15. Will’s episode will air on May 14 and it is one that you won’t want to miss!

Update: Will Friedle’s episode airs on May 15th, not the 14th now. Please check our new post on this here(Click here).

Below is a quote from Variety’s article:

Disney Channel has set Monday, May 11 as the season 2 premiere date of “Boy Meets World” spinoff “Girl Meets World,” Variety has learned. As an additional treat, one new episode of the show will debut each night May 12-15, totaling five new episodes throughout the week.

Episode description for the Season 2 Premiere “Girl Meets Gravity”: (from Variety)

The season premiere, which guest stars Cloris Leachman, follows Riley and Maya as they embark on a new year at John Quincy Adams Middle School and are eager to transfer out of Cory’s class. The change, however, doesn’t offer the excitement and independence they hoped it would. Meanwhile, Riley’s little brother, Auggie, learns what it means to say goodbye to a very close friend.

The May 14 episode will likely especially intrigue “Boy Meets World” fans, as it marks the return of Cory Matthews’ brother Eric. Will Friedle will make his first guest appearance on the show on that episode.
