Michael Jacobs talked to TVLine yesterday at the ATX Festival and he teased some details on who Farkle’s mom is. She is someone from Boy Meets World who will be returning in Season 2 of Girl Meets World.
“You have seen her a number of times [on BMW],” Jacobs told TVLine on Thursday at the ATX Television Festival. “She’s the last person you would believe is married to Minkus. She will be radically different and evolved, and I believe you will love the reappearance of this character.”
When pushed to elaborate on the actress in question, Jacobs said, “She was so happy and proud. She did a couple of episodes for us [on Boy Meets World]. She asked, ‘Was I indelible to you that way?’ And I said, ‘Absolutely.’ She is to [the viewers], too; you’ve just forgotten.”
Rowan also spilled some details on Eric and Jack’s reunion:
“Jack’s storyline is mainly with Eric, which is cool, because they were best buddies on Boy Meets World,” Blanchard teased. “The whole Rachel situation definitely comes up, and you’ll get some closure on that. … We want to have her back at some point, but she doesn’t appear this season.”
International Business Times spoke with Michael Jacobs on the red carpet at the ATX Festival where he dropped some hints about Angela’s long awaited return to Girl Meets World. Check out what he had to say about the upcoming episode set to air on June 19th at 8:30PM EST on the Disney Channel.
Brace yourselves, Angela (Trina McGee) and Shawn (Rider Strong) shippers. The “Boy Meets World” couple may not have panned out when the show ended in 2000, but they’re going to reunite on-screen during an upcoming “Girl Meets World” episode. The reunion is old news for fans of the Disney spinoff series – but show creator Michael Jacobs just dropped a bombshell at the 2015 ATX Television Festival that fans might not appreciate.
“We’re about to throw Shawn and Angela at you,” Jacobs told the International Business Times on the red carpet. “In three weeks it’s going to be on the air … and there is going to be full scale audience rebellion. We had to make a choice – Are we writing this real like we always did?”
A “full scale audience rebellion”? It doesn’t sound like Angela and Shawn fans are going to get the happy ending they’ve been waiting for.

ETOnline.com interviewed Creator Michael Jacobs and he gave some scoop on the Boy Meets World guest stars and more.
Almost everybody from Boy Meets World are returning:
A good majority of Girl Meet World‘s first season was setting up the introductions of Riley, Maya, Farkle, Lucas and Auggie. Now that we know (and love!) this new generation of friends, it’s time to blend these two worlds. “We’re going to have guest appearances from almost everybody in the original cast,” Jacobs explained. “We’re going to resolve story-lines from the original show while keeping it the new show.”
“Will Friedle will visit us three times this year and his performances are absolutely brilliant,” said Jacobs. “He’s just one of the funniest people alive. The combination of his funny and his particular brand of heart is a signature for the piece.”
“We’re about to reveal in an episode called “Girl Meets Hurricane”what is going on in Angela’s life,” Jacobs promised. “For Shawn and Angela, there will be resolution to that relationship.”
Jacobs continued, “We gave it so much thought and we decided that given the history of these characters and where they are in their lives, [that] will shape where they stand. We will be bombarded on Twitter after this episode airs. There will be people who love it, there will be people who don’t, but I will tell you that it’s real, and that’s what we were guided by.”
On seeing Boy Meets World references:
“There are remarkable things that we’re doing with old character references,” Jacobs spilled. “In the premiere week there’s a story about going back to Philadelphia and digging up the past — literally. They dig up a time capsule [in Feeny’s backyard], so we’ll see artifacts from the original series that were iconic artifacts.”
Plus, remember Chubbie’s — the hangout where Cory, Shawn and Topanga had some of their most epic moments? Well the new kids are going to be getting their own special place this year when Topanga takes over a bakery. “The kids need a place to hang out and to play,” Jacobs said. “Boy Meets World had Chubbie’s and in Girl Meets World it’s going to be Topanga’s.”

The panel “Boy Meets Girl Meets World,” will feature a wide-ranging discussion, which will delve into many facets of tween series, including the differences and challenges of creating a teen-focused show in the 1990s vs. 2010s.

We found an article from June 2014 with quotes from Michael. However some of this information is new so we wanted to post it.
Quoted from Shineon-media.com:
14. This is a show for the “every man” and “every girl.”
Over the years, you are going to fall in love with Riley the same way you fell in love with Cory. “Every show gets tested and we go through focus groups. What we were hearing is “who do you want to be?” Maya, Maya. Everyone was Maya. Everybody got nervous and we were like is Riley testing high enough?,” Jacobs revealed. “I said, don’t you understand? Every Riley in the audience wants to be Maya. It’s Ben all over again. In the beginning of “Boy Meets World,” Cory was never the highest testing character. It would be Shawn, it would be Topanga, it would be Feeny, it’d be extra #7. After year 3, it was Cory, year 4, Cory. He became the aspirational character. He showed the vast, predominant every man audience that “we are going to have a life.” Most shows on TV now, it’s hard to look like that, it’s hard to sound like that, it’s hard to have a girlfriend or boyfriend that looks like that as well. We want to do it real. I want a stumbling, gawky, unsure of herself child to grow up in front of us again. We did it once and we were successful.”
