FoxNews.com interviewed Maitland (Rachel) about what she’s been up to, projects, and she talks about Boy/Girl Meets World , and if she’s returning to Girl Meets World for a guest spot.
“Boy Meets World” had a steady fan base during its seven-year run, and it has only grown in popularity since the show went into syndication. With spinoff “Girl Meets World” in its second season, Ward couldn’t be more proud of the show she worked on.
“I think it’s great for a new generation of kids especially because their parents watched all of us on the show,” she explained. “To raise your kids with the same thing, except a different version, I think it’s a really cool thing, and it’s a great moral show and good values for kids to grow up with.”
And Ward couldn’t be happier re-connecting with her old cast members.
“Ever since the new show came around, everybody got in touch again –even though I had talked to them over the years quite a bit but separately. The show has really brought everyone back together, and that’s what’s really special about it too.”
If she’s returning to Girl Meets World:
“Yes, it’s always in the possibility coming up. I’ve had a lot of talks about it. Definitely a possibility.”
In the story, “Girl Meets Farkle,” Riley, Maya and Lucas emphasize the beauty of being unique as they rally around their friend Farkle Minkus, who may be on the autism spectrum. Meanwhile, his friendship with another student, Smackle, grows fonder. The episode premieres FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Guest starring are Cecilia Balagot (“Isadora Smackle”), Cyrina Fiallo (“Ms. Oben”) and Lee Norris (“Stuart Minkus”) and Kristanna Loken (“Jennifer Bassett Minkus”), who return to their “Boy Meets World” roles, now as Farkle’s parents.
Girl Meets I Am Farkle premieres next Friday, September 11 at 8:30PM on the Disney Channel.
Exciting news Boy Meets World fans! Shawn and Mr. Turner will be reuniting. The writers have answered a fan on last night’s Q & A and a fan asked if Shawn and Mr. Turner will be reuniting. The writers said they’ll be reuniting in a very special moment. So exciting!
KSiteTV.com interviewed Michael Jacobs (creator of both Boy and Girl Meets World ). The questions ranged from If Morgan is returning this season, whether or not the bringing in the Boy Meets World cast members is intentional, what is Season’s 3 theme if we get a Season 3, why some characters left Boy Meets World, a little tease of Girl Meets Cory and Topanga, what to expect from Riley and Lucas’ story and more.
In addition to being educational and entertaining at the same time, in addition to appealing to young people, the show is appealing to adults who might have watched Boy Meets World. Have you been building that intentionally? Season 2 seems like every episode has something that I, in my thirties, would enjoy.
It is intentional. This is a continuation of a particular story, but it’s in a different world. The original series was in the 90’s and you would think that this was an extraordinarily advanced time, technologically, but it wasn’t. There were no cell phones yet. (trimmed this. )
