Girl Meets World cast: Peyton Meyer as Lucas Friar, August Maturo as Auggie Matthews, Ben Savage as Cory Matthews, Rowan Blanchard as Riley Matthews, Danielle Fishel as Topanga Matthews, Sabrina Carpenter as Maya Hart and Corey Fogelmanis as Farkle
The new Girl Meets World cast photo was released by People.com today.
Set in New York City, Girl Meets World picks up more than 10 years after Boy Meets World left off. The former adolescent flames are now married and raising two children, 7th-grade daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and son Auggie (August Maturo). The story is centered around Riley, the title character.
“Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular,” says creator Michael Jacobs.
“When the news leaked that Girl Meets World was in the making, literally days after I first heard about the project myself, Michael Jacobs and I had a conversation and we talked about how we were both so blown away by the reactions from all of you,” she writes on her blog about fans of the series.
“We felt honored. We felt nostalgic. We felt touched by the excitement in your comments, tweets, Tumblr and Facebook posts. But most of all, we felt inspired. We felt inspired to bring these characters back to life and to tell you more of their stories.”

Experience from Jose
The “Girl Meet World” live tapping was absolutely AMAZING! I’m honestly in love with Sabrina Carpenter, voice of an angel ! And Rowan was awesome literally this show is what Disney Channel needed. People are going to love this show.
Experience from Josh
My experience at GMW was pretty awesome! It took me back to when I was a kid and how awesome those times were. Boy meets world was my show in the 90’s so I had to go! It was shocking to see Ben and Danielle as Cory and Topanga in person! They do the parts justice. The kids are very talented. Rowan was hilarious, Sabrina was emotional, Corey was great, Peyton was good. It’s obviously geared for a new generation but there are lessons to be learned. Rider Strong directed which was great to see him. Trina and William also stopped by to visit which was a nice surprise. The show itself is pretty good. Obviously it’s different because it’s aimed towards the younger generation but that’s how BMW started. The characters are the same and different in a good way. I feel like I can invest in the girls journey through life and seeing Cory and Topanga married is just amazing. After it was over I met everyone except for August and Cory. Everyone is super nice and took photos/autographs. Ben really is the last one to do them and really appreciates the fans who come to see the taping. I say go see it you will not regret it! I’ll be tuning in.
