AfterBuzz TV interviewed Corey Marsh (Disney Channel Executive) and Michael Jacobs (Creator of Boy and Girl).

Watch the amazing interview here(Scroll down to see the key points we posted):

Here are many key points Michael Jacobs wrote:

– Old audience “Stay”. You will love the episodes.
– He’s hopeful Will Friedle will return. Will wasn’t in the first season and there is a very good reason for that and it may of been because of Michael Jacobs (he was laughing :D). Will Friedle is very much missed by them.
– Michael Jacobs and Ray Colcord(Composer) wrote a theme song and it was in competition until they heard “Take On the World” and they said their song wasn’t as good as “Take on the World”.
– The scariest moment of the Pilot for Disney was the deep scene with Cory and Maya as they didn’t know how the audience would react to it or not. They were doing a test for their Pilot the deep scene about Maya saying she has no one at home that helps her with her homework and they said it was a deep breathe of fresh air as the audience said it was their favorite moment as it was relatable. Corey Marsh said he would love to have this on every show going forward.

– The new cast members develop so fast that they are so different at the end of the season then how they were in the early episodes that the old audience will really love that.
– He believes the old Topanga is in the 5th episode (Kind of hard to remember when filming a first season).
– He wanted to give Topanga a set since Cory has one as a teacher but no one liked Topanga having a pudding shop so they decided to drop that idea.
– He reads everything online and he said “Not enough Topanga in the Pilot” and Michael said he knows everyone loves Topanga. “Believe me, there is lots of Topanga coming”. He needs everyone to love the girls. Topanga is on the wrong side of the case and she knows it and she has to defend something that she’s really unhappy about it “Doesn’t sound like a kids show, does it?”. Topanga goes to her old Topanga and she realized she went too far and she won’t have it and it’s a lovely meeting between those two. The episode is about going too far and how easy the world makes it. You slip up in a second and you regret it forever. It’s how to slip it up is what Topanga is all about.
– There will be an episode centered around Jackee Harry. What you think you see on the subway is not all what Jackee is.
– “Is what you see, is what you’re to going to get? No. Don’t make assumptions based on BMW”. It’s not necessary that Riley and Lucas will be the new Cory and Topanga. What you think you see between Rowan and Peyton are going to grow and we’re going to grow it real.
– One of the episodes, the story was about Rider in the reunion episode. Rider is going to be a regular director for Girl Meets World. This episode when Rider comes back, there is an arc, and this episode told Michael we have a series because in the middle of the episode Riley has an agenda for Shawn. She takes Shawn and wants to change it radically and Shawn and Cory and Topanga are in this episode representing the original series. Riley and Maya have something going on that is enthical to the original series and we have a live audience that tells them if they’re doing well. They were rooting for the girls. Both and new audiences will be very satisfied with what they did with the reunion episode of what they did with it.
– The core is for a kids audience but there will be parents scenes that make you feel real and the kids will be able to relate to that as well and the parents can see the continuation of the old characters on the new show.

Don’t compare the series. They’re two series. You will love this series. They know what their aspirations are and that’s the writers responsibilities. Michael Jacobs reads EVERYTHING and he listens to the feedback.

They show 2 scenes with Bill Daniels (Mr. Feeny). The original scene was wonderful and it took you right out of the show.

Bill sat down in the original scene and it was in the middle of the water pouring down on everybody and Cory shakes his head and realizes he’s failing as a teacher and he goes to a picture on his desk and we know it’s Topanga and he picks it up and it’s Mr. Feeny with his arms crossed and he says “I failed you” and he looks up and the classroom is dried and there is Bill Daniels and he says “No, Mr. Matthews., do you think I was always Mr. Feeny?” Cory says “I think you came out of your mother and said “Hi, I am Mr. Feeny”.

Michael chose not to show it and doesn’t mean he won’t show it . The reason why Michael chose not to show the original episode is because Cory is the teacher and Cory is not Feeny. Cory is confused. No matter what he does, he’s a confused. He’s a confused kid, father and certainly he’s a confused teacher.

For the answer about Mr. Feeny, here is the post if you want to get spoiled: http://bmwsequel.com/2014/05/24/mark-blutman-answers-a-fans-question-regarding-mr-feeny-in-the-pilot-episode/
